My Best 2020 Divorce Advice!

Posted By Lois M. Brenner, Esq. || 26-Feb-2020

Divorce is traditionally a painful and dreaded process, but it doesn’t have to be as awful as you expect!

To help you with your 2020 divorce goals, I’m sharing my suggestions for protecting yourself, your family and your finances. As a psychologically-trained divorce attorney and mediator I can help you pave a path to a happier, healthier life. My unique divorce process will give you comfort, strength, successful legal strategy and peace of mind during one of the most difficult times of your life.

So let’s get started right now with a few helpful tips:

  1. Consider alternatives. Be open to a less aggressive path to divorce.

Most divorce matters can be negotiated. Your life doesn’t have to look like a divorce court reality show. You can choose a less expensive, faster, more dignified process like mediation. Mediation is normally less expensive (why give all your assets to attorneys?), less provocative, more compassionate, more family friendly, and financially flexible!

  1. Think strategically, not emotionally.

Once divorce is a consideration, don’t just react. Think, plan and strategize. Select the professionals who will provide the divorce armor and champion your wishes.

  1. Don’t move out of the marital residence.

Never simply leave your home. Getting back in can be difficult. Stand your ground and don’t lose your leverage.

  1. Don’t just take divorce advice from your friends!

They may have known someone who divorced, or have been through divorce themselves, but that doesn’t mean they passed the bar and practice divorce law. Gladly accept their love and emotional support and leave the nuts and bolts of divorce to the pros.

  1. Don’t use your children as pawns.

Your children are your greatest gift. Don’t sacrifice them in your battle. Children are meant to be treasured and protected by both their mom and dad.

So what are your 2020 divorce questions?

To discuss in more detail some of the tips I provided above, call me.

I promise to have some solid answers for you! I will provide you with successful, compassionate, comprehensive legal advice to set you on the right path.

Good News!!! I have extended my free consultations through the month of March. Call now to book your free consultation. 212.734.1551

I look forward to meeting you!

Warm wishes,

Lois
