Is It Time to Investigate Your Spouse?

|

Do you ever feel like you can’t trust your spouse? Does your intuition tell you your spouse is not being truthful with you?

I have had clients share with me their suspicions, and no, they weren’t paranoid, they were correct. Even though you want to trust your spouse, you may have reasons not to be so trusting.

I had a client who decided she needed to have her husband followed so she put a GPS on his car and also hired a private investigator to follow him.

She was an international art dealer. Her husband was a plastic surgeon. She suspected he was having multiple affairs and got the evidence she needed that he was cheating. The final straw was catching him having an affair with the babysitter.

It’s a terrible feeling when you think someone is cheating or hiding assets and you need to investigate them. For some, gathering evidence is important so they can make an informed decision about getting divorced.

In divorce situations, information uncovered by a spouse illegally can’t be used in court, but illegally obtained information can lead to legal, legit sources of information that can help you decide to divorce.

So if there is trouble in your marriage, or divorce has been discussed, and you feel you need to do some surveillance on your spouse, be ready for what you might learn!

Here are some reasons to consider investigating your spouse:

  1. Cheating: do you think your spouse is cheating? – need evidence?;
  2. Is your spouse drinking, doing drugs?;
  3. Squirreling away assets;
  4. Saying they are working, but they are somewhere else;
  5. Gambling;
  6. Spending time with people (online or otherwise).

Whatever the reason, some spouses need evidence that their spouse is not being truthful. For people going through a divorce it’s important to be aware of what is happening in their marriage.

Consider your own investigation if you suspect your spouse is cheating, hiding assets, or living a double life. Damning evidence can also help you in a divorce or custody battle.

If a spouse is hiding something, you can always track the history on their computer, texts on their telephone, their social media presence, and Facebook correspondence.

I have actually spoken with spouses who learned their spouse had another family with children!
